Overview
The Available Now feature lets haulers mark themselves as available for immediate work in the Trux Drive app. When a hauler is marked “Available Now,” dispatchers can see them in real time within the Dispatch screen, along with proximity to the plant or origin, and duration since hauler has been marked as 'Available Now'. This feature helps dispatchers quickly assign last minute or same day loads without needing to make calls or send messages.
Who This Applies To
Haulers using the Trux Drive app who want to be considered for same day or last minute work.
Dispatchers and managers who assign work using Trux Dispatch functionality.
Roles applicable : Truck Owner & Independent.
How It Works
For Haulers: Mark Yourself as Available Now
Open the Trux Drive app.
From the Home screen, locate the Available Now toggle.
When turned ON, the hauler’s truck becomes visible to dispatchers as “Available Now.”
When turned OFF, they are no longer visible in the list.
A green indicator confirms that the hauler is marked as Available Now.
The status will automatically expire after a set period (default: 12 hours), or once the hauler is assigned a load, or if manually turned OFF by the hauler.
Notes for Haulers:
Only Truck Owners and Independents can mark themselves as Available Now in the Drive app. Truck Drivers and Brokers cannot use this feature.
The app relies on GPS tracking to determine and display accurate location. Ensure that Location Services are enabled on your device.
For Available Now to function, the device’s Location Sharing must be set to “Always share location.”
For Dispatchers: Viewing and Assigning Available Haulers
Log into the Trux Materials and navigate to the Dispatch tab.
In the Dispatch Orders section, view the Fleet tab.
Select Available Now from the filter options.
Select the Origin
The list will display Haulers who have marked themselves as available within the preset geofence radius of the selected Origin.
Only Haulers whose travel distance is less than the preset radius will be displayed.
For example - If preset radius is 25 miles and roadways travel distance of Hauler to origin location is less than or equal to 25 miles only then the Hauler name will appear in the list.
The Origin dropdown will show only locations with active Dispatch Orders for the day.
The Origin location dropdown will display Integrated locations only; Third-party locations will not appear in the list.
You can sort the list by:
Name : Ascending or Descending order of hauler name
Closest to Location: shows haulers nearest to your origin.
Longest Time Available Now: shows haulers who’ve been available the longest.
Review the hauler name, proximity and duration displayed in the list.
Follow the standard ‘drag and drop’ process to assign the hauler to a dispatch order
Once requested assignment is accepted by the hauler, that hauler will be removed from the “Available Now” list automatically.
If hauler rejects the assignment then the Available now status will remain ON and they will not be removed from the Available Now list
