Overview
What is "Auto-Complete on Next"?
This new enhancement automates the process of completing a driver's current load and initiating the next one.
Why was this feature developed?
It was introduced to improve the accuracy of load counts and reduce the need for manual intervention, serving as a crucial safeguard when a driver forgets to manually complete a load.
How It Works: The New Workflow
Automated Load Completion and Initiation: When a driver returns to the plant after a delivery and the scale ticket for the current load is successfully matched, the system will automatically mark the previous load as complete and start the next load.
Conditions for Auto-Completion:
Auto-completion will occur when all of the following conditions are met:
- The scale ticket is successfully matched to the current load.
- The driver has returned to the plant.
- The current load was not completed manually.
Visual Indicators:
Loads that have been auto-completed at the plant will be indicated by specific icons, similar to those used in HMA workflows. (Consider adding an image of the icon here if possible).
What's Changed from Before?
Previous Process:
- Drivers previously had to manually complete loads after delivery.
- Inaccurate reporting and operational inefficiencies could result from incomplete loads due to user errors or connectivity issues.
- Prior to this update, load auto-completion also utilized geofence-based logic for validating driver movement, which has now been removed based on feedback.
Key Improvements:
- Provides an automatic completion mechanism to ensure load counts are accurate, especially when a driver forgets to manually complete a load.
- Reduces the overall need for manual intervention.
- Minimizes inaccuracies in reporting and operational inefficiencies that could arise from incomplete loads.
- The geofence-based auto-completion logic has been removed to streamline the process.
Manual Intervention and Troubleshooting
Manual Completion as a Fallback:
Drivers should still manually complete loads as the preferred option.
Handling Auto-Complete Failures:
If auto-completion fails (e.g., due to a missing or unmatched scale ticket), dispatch can manually reconcile the load.
Benefits of Auto-Complete on Next
- More accurate load counts.
- Reduced instances of forgotten manual load completions, leading to better data.
- Reduced overall manual work for haulers and dispatchers.
- Streamlined workflow and improved operational efficiency.
Auditing and Reporting
All auto-complete events are logged in the assignment history for auditing.
