The first thing you need to do before getting trucks in TRUX is to create a job. A project can be a 1-day project, a project that may take three years and acts as a placeholder to create dispatches, or a sales order that a customer is going to order from frequently. You can create a project in just 3 easy steps.
Click PROJECTS on the left navigation menu.
Click the + NEW PROJECT button.
Fill out the information on the Create Project screen, and click CREATE PROJECT.
- Project Name - Enter a name for your project. This is the name that will appear when you post shifts for haulers to claim.
- Project Description - This is an internal description that will help you remember the project details.
- Start Location - You can assign a start location to your project. This will be auto-populated into any shift you create. The start location can still be edited when creating the shift.
- End Location - You can assign an end location to your project. This will be auto-populated into any shift you create. The end location can still be edited when creating the shift.
- Cost Codes - You can assign one or more cost codes to your project. You must create the cost codes prior to assigning them to a project. Any cost codes assigned to a project will automatically be assigned to the shifts created for the project. However, cost codes can still be edited when you create a shift.
- Internal Project ID - Enter an Internal Project ID if you wish to group all project-related costs.
- Job Instructions - These instructions will appear on every shift that you post and tell haulers what they will need to know about the project. Do not post rates or contact numbers here. You will set the rate(s) when you post shifts for the project.
- Prevailing Wage - Check if applicable. Learn more about Prevailing Wage jobs here.
