Overview
The Trux Marketplace has become an invaluable source of available work for haulers with over 45,000 shifts posted annually. It’s an equally important source of 3rd party dump trucks for material producers and contractors who use on average 70 haulers from 38 hauling companies from the Marketplace with some using over 200 in a year. Maintaining this trusted relationship between haulers and material producers and contractors is an important part of the Trux community.
Cancellations are a normal part of the industry, whether due to equipment failure, scheduling conflicts, weather conditions, or personal reasons. But last-minute cancellations in particular can be very disruptive to the job site and leave the contracting entity scrambling to find replacements without any understanding of why the cancellation occurred in the first place. That’s why we are releasing new features to improve communication and transparency between haulers claiming work from the Trux Marketplace and the material producers and contractors who provide the work.
What kind of work applies?
In general, work that has been accepted (via direct dispatch request) or claimed from the Trux Marketplace and has a start time within the next 14 hours is subject to these new features. The Trux customer who is posting the work to the Marketplace decides whether or not to enforce these last-minute cancellation features.

Cancellation Reasons
When canceling Marketplace work within the last-minute cancellation window, you will be presented with the following prompt to select/input a reason for the last-minute cancellation:
The selected reason for the cancellation will be included in the notification to the contracting entity and viewable on the shift details in Trux.
30-Day Cancellation Tracking
When cancelling work at the last minute, you will be presented with the following message noting how many times you have canceled work at the last minute over a rolling 30-day period.
This will provide you with additional transparency and feedback on whether your frequency of cancellations is getting too high.
Reclaiming Canceled Work
Previously, a canceled job would no longer appear on the canceling hauler’s Available Jobs screen once it was canceled. With these new features, haulers now have the ability to “reclaim” work that was canceled (assuming it has not already been claimed by another hauler). You can reclaim this work by tapping on the canceled shift (shown with a RECLAIM button) and tapping CLAIM JOB as you normally would.
