Haulers often work on projects that involve various tasks or materials that correspond to multiple different cost codes. That’s why we’ve added the ability for Trux Construction customers to create and apply multiple cost codes to a single shift to allow for more accurate tracking and reporting of project expenses and activities.
Assigning Multiple Cost Codes to a Shift
You can assign multiple cost codes on the Schedule Work modal/screen.
- Click the Cost Code dropdown list.
- Click the cost codes that you wish to assign to the shift(s), and click SELECT to identify which one will be the Primary cost code. The Primary code is the code that will be used when the hauler punches in on the shift).
- You will see shifts with multiple cost codes assigned to them on the SCHEDULE screen. Hover over the “# cost codes” label to display the codes that have been assigned to the shift.
- Dispatchers can switch the active, add, and remove cost codes on an UNASSIGNED, SCHEDULED, or PUNCHED IN shift.
- If the Dispatcher switches the active code for the hauler, they will receive the following confirmation message informing them that the hauler will be punched out of their current shift under the Primary cost code.
- When cost codes are switched on an active shift, the hauler is automatically punched out of the current shift…
- ..and punched into another shift under the new/switched cost code.
- You can see all of the cost code details on completed shifts when you export shift details from the shift actions dropdown menu.
- The exported spreadsheet summarizes all of the completed shift data by cost code.
How Haulers Apply Cost Codes to Shifts
Haulers have the ability to start a shift with one cost code and change to another cost code for that same shift when needed.
- Once loads have been completed for the Primary cost code, the hauler can tap the cost code dropdown list.
- Next, select the new cost code for which they will be performing work and tap Confirm.
- Tap Yes to confirm the cost code change.
The hauler will be automatically punched out of work under the current cost code and punched into work under the newly-selected cost code.
