Overview
Users can view all products as well as those associated with a specific location on the LOCATIONS screen. Customer Admin users can create and manage products individually via form or in bulk via CSV file upload. Follow the steps below to see how.
Viewing Products
All users can view and search for products on the LOCATIONS screen.
- Click the Products tab on the LOCATIONS screen to view all of the products available for the selected location. Location-specific products are added by users with the Customer Admin role when the location is created (see next section).
- Search for products by Product Name, SKU ID, or External ID/Label. Click on the filter icon to clear any search filters you have applied and display all products.
- Toggle on/off displaying only products that are available at the selected plant. If they toggle is off, you will see a count of the number of total products displayed followed by a parenthetical reference to how many of those have been assigned to the selected plant.
Manually Creating a Product
NOTE: Only users with the Customer Admin role can create products, whether manually or by importing products from a CSV file.
- Click + ADD PRODUCT from the Products tab on the LOCATIONS screen.
- Enter an External ID and Name for the product you are adding. Both of these must be unique values and should ideally match what you have in your source system.
- Enter a Description and a Comment if you wish.
- Select the Material Unit for this product. This will essentially be how the product will be charged to customers: by the Ton, by the Cubic Yard, or by the Load. If you have a Safety Data Sheet for this product, copy and paste the URL in this field.
- If you want this product to be added as available for the selected location, check Add to this location. Similarly, if you want it to be Active once you create the product, toggle this field on.
- Enter the SKU ID if you have it, and click CREATE PRODUCT.
The new product will appear among the list of products and will be associated with the selected location if you checked that box.
Importing Products
- Click IMPORT PRODUCTS from the Products tab on the LOCATIONS screen.
- Click DOWNLOAD EXAMPLE FILE on the Import Products modal if you wish to download a CSV file to use as an example to ensure you are including the correct required and optional fields. Add the products you wish to import, and save it as a CSV file. OR,
- Click UPLOAD If you already have a properly-formatted CSV file with product information that you wish to import. Browse to that file, and select it, and click Open to upload the file.
The new products will appear among the list of products and will be associated with the selected location if you checked that box.
