Overview
Trux Ticketing supports advanced customer management functionality, including the ability to easily search for customers, view and manage customer-specific historical orders and pricing, and the ability to add and edit customer profiles. Users can create and edit customer profiles using one of two methods: manually adding via data entry/form and via bulk upload using a CSV template.
Manual Entry
Follow the steps below to add a new customer.
- Click + ADD CUSTOMER on the CUSTOMERS screen.
- Complete the fields on the Create Customer form. Required fields are indicated by an (*). Enter the customer’s External ID. This ID is unique to each customer and should match the ID in your source system.
- If an existing customer with the ID you enter is found in the system, you will see the following prompt. This is to ensure you are not creating duplicate customer records. Click YES if you would like to edit the identified customer’s information. The selected customer’s current information will pre-populate the form for you to edit.
Click NO to go back to the form and enter a different, unique External ID for the new customer or to search the system for the existing customer to create an order for them.
- Enter a Customer Name, contact information, and other fields.
- Select Pricing Tier A, B, or C (C is the default). The Pricing Tier determines the cost of the product to the customer.
- Enter a Credit Limit, Hard Stop Flag, and Other Accepted Payments that are applicable.
- Under Pricing Mode you have two options:
- Lock at Order Creation: This means the default Sales Order will maintain the price at which it was created, regardless of product pricing changes. Those prices will continue to be charged until the Sales Order expires (primarily for delivery orders).
- Service Date: This means that tier pricing will automatically update upon the new effective by pricing date.
- Note: The pricing mode can be overridden on individual Sales Orders. The goal of setting it up under the customer is to cover the majority of your Sales Orders.
- Click ADD TAX EXEMPT STATE(S) if the customer is operating in a tax-exempt state.
Enter all of the states in which the customer is operating and their Sales Tax ID(s) and click SAVE to create the customer. - Click CREATE CUSTOMER
NOTE: ‘Enable FOB Auto Creation’ will automatically generate a generic FOB Sales Order for this Customer.
CSV Upload
NOTE: Only users with the Customer Admin role can import customers from a CSV file.
Trux allows Customer Admin users to import multiple customers in bulk from a standard template file.
- Click IMPORT CUSTOMERS on the CUSTOMERS screen.
- Click DOWNLOAD EXAMPLE FILE on the Import Customers modal if you wish to download a CSV file to use as an example to ensure you are including the correct required and optional fields. Add the customers you wish to import, and save it as a CSV file. OR,
- Click UPLOAD If you already have a properly-formatted CSV file with customer information that you wish to import. Browse to that file, and select it, and click Open to upload the file.
- Click CONFIRM if you are ready to import the file. Once completed, your new customers will appear among the list of customers on the CUSTOMERS screen.
