Overview
Trux POS is designed to provide scale-clerks with the ability to efficiently enter and retrieve all necessary data required to generate a scale ticket for outbound loads weighed at the scale. This functionality streamlines the process by ensuring that all relevant truck and load details are accurately recorded and accessible in real-time. By improving data accuracy and accessibility, the system facilitates faster ticket creation, reduces potential errors, and enhances overall operational efficiency at the scale house.
There are many different ticketing use cases and scenarios that may present at the scale house, but the following are three common use cases to illustrate how the system works in the most common scenarios. Click on a use case to go to the relevant section.
- Create a ticket for a Sales Order for Delivery
- Create the first ticket for a newly created Sales Order for a Pickup
- Create additional tickets for multiple deliveries for the same Sales Order
Use Case 1: No previous ticket created for a Sales Order with Delivery
In this scenario, the Scale Clerk needs to create the first scale ticket for a new Sales Order for an order that is to be delivered.
- Select the Plant Location.
- Enter the Vehicle ID. The search function for Vehicle ID also allows searching by hauling company name.
- If the selected vehicle has an associated hauling company, the Carrier field will auto-populate.
- If the selected vehicle has a captured Tare weight, it will auto-populate.
- After selecting the vehicle, the Customer selection dropdown will auto-populate. If the selected vehicle is linked to only one customer, the system will auto-select that customer. If there is more customer linked, then the customer dropdown will show all linked customers, and you must select the correct customer.
-
The system checks if there is any previous ticket for the selected Vehicle ID and Customer combination. If a previous ticket exists, a popup will appear displaying the following details:
Vehicle ID
Order Number
Order Date
Pickup or Delivery type
If you are creating a ticket for the same order, click YES, and the details will be auto-populated.
If you are creating a ticket for a new order, click NO, and manually enter the details.
If no previous ticket exists for the selected vehicle and customer, no popup will appear.Since this is a new Sales Order and Sales Order Item, click NO.
- Enter the newly created Sales Order Number in the Order Number field. You can also search by Customer Name, and a list of all matching Sales Orders will appear in the dropdown list.

- Select Pickup or Delivery. Delivery = Managed by Century Logistics. Pickup = Managed by the customer. For this use case, select Delivery.
- If a Delivery Address is available for the Sales Order, it will auto-populate. If no address is provided at the Sales Order level, you will need to manually enter tone. Note: For Delivery orders, a Delivery Address is mandatory, as the Material Sales Tax is calculated based on the Delivery State and Zip code.
- Enter weights.
Tare: If the vehicle's tare weight is available, it will auto-populate. If not, the user must manually enter the tare weight.
Gross: The user must enter a gross weight.
Net: The net weight will be auto-calculated using the formula: Gross - Tare = Net. All weights are recorded in Pounds.
