Every two weeks, TRUX releases software updates that can include new features, functionality, and performance improvements (and maybe a few bug fixes too ;-). These updates are designed to deliver more value to our customers. It can be hard to keep up with everything that’s changed, so we’ve put together a list of the top five most impactful features added in the last year. Click on a feature listed below to go to that section, or just scroll down to read them all!
The single most important factor impacting which jobs get filled and which jobs don’t is lead time—how far in advance of the start time a job is posted. But things change in the field - weather changes, projects run ahead or behind schedule, and sometimes you just need to make a change to a shift that you posted previously. Don’t cancel shifts if all you need to do is change some of the key details - edit them! You can edit the following information on a shift:
- Shift date(s)
- Start time
- Start and end locations
- Rate Unit (e.g., HOURLY or BY THE TON)
- Rate amount (increase or decrease)
- Material type
- Whether load slips are required or not
Edited shifts remain in a Requested status until the hauler who accepted the original shift reviews and accepts the edited shift or it expires. If/Once the hauler accepts the edited shift, the status will return to a Scheduled status.
TRUX gives you the ability to keep track of where truckers are in real-time and on past jobs - all without any GPS equipment. To that end, we’ve put a lot of effort into displaying more trucker information on the map. When you click on an active trucker in the REAL-TIME tab, you now see the following information:
- Trucker name
- Trucker relationship (e.g., Marketplace, Regular, Favorite, etc.)
- Trucker phone number
- Estimated speed range:
- Unknown - speed cannot be estimated
- Stopped - estimated to be traveling under 2 mph
- Low Speed - estimated to be traveling between 2 mph and 20 mph
- Traveling - estimated to be traveling over 20 mph
- Truck type (e.g., Tri-Axle)
- The direction of travel (shown for trucks traveling at a speed >10 mph)
We’ve also added plant and job site icons as well as a visual of the geofence for each location. Most recently we added current traffic conditions!
On the HISTORY tab, we added a slider that allows you to follow the time-stamped route that I trucker took on a given shift. We also added icons to indicate when and where a trucker punched in and punched out.
Finally, we added the ability to view a map right from the SHIFTS screen.
Bulk Load Slip Download
Load slips are a key part of any job, and the ability to access and download them from TRUX saves a lot of administrative time and money. And they are often critical to getting paid and/or validating the work completed matches the work required. Each job can include multiple shifts, and each shift can include multiple loads, so the number of load slips can quickly add up. That’s why we added the ability to download multiple load slips at once.
You can download all of the load slips associated with a shift or all of the load slips for multiple shifts at once.
You use TRUX to get trucks for your jobs. But many of you also own trucks and employ haulers to drive them. And there may be times when you could be putting these trucks to work on other jobs. That's why we've created Fleet Management - to enable contractors and material producers to find and accept jobs for their Company Dedicated drivers and owned trucks on the TRUX Marketplace.
Require Load Slips
Every construction company in the country gets paid or has to pay its invoices based on supporting documents. And every contractor in the country has trouble keeping track of or even getting these documents that pass through truckers’ hands. One of the most important and common of these documents is Load Slips. This is why we’ve given you the ability to require load slips for all of your jobs.
Awesome collection of new features - keep 'em coming!
